The combination of tender fish and the velvety texture of the rice ensures a balanced flavor composition, while the visual presentation with the bright salmon and green vegetables appeals to the senses. - 1 pc. Nori sheet
- 150 g sushi rice (boiled and seasoned)
- 80 g salmon, fresh (sashimi quality), cut into strips)
- 1/4 pcs. Avocado (cut into thin strips)
- 1/4 pcs. Cucumber (seeded and cut into thin strips)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (roasted)
- Soy sauce (for dipping)
Optional Ingredients
Preparation: Place a bamboo mat (sushi mat) on a clean, flat surface and cover with a piece of cling film.
Placing the nori sheet: Place a sheet of nori on the prepared bamboo mat with the rough side up.
Spread the rice evenly: Spread the cooked and seasoned sushi rice evenly over the nori sheet. Leave about 2 cm of space on one side.
Arranging fillings: Place thin strips of fresh salmon, avocado and cucumber on top of the rice.
Roles: Start on the side with the fillings and carefully roll up the bamboo mat. Gently press the roller to compress the ingredients.
Cut: Using a sharp knife, cut the roll into about 8 bite-sized pieces. Dip the knife in water in between to prevent the rice from sticking.
Garnish: Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the sliced sushi chunks to add extra flavor and texture. A narrow strip of salmon on the reel is an appealing variation.
Serve: Arrange the Classic Salmon Roll on a serving plate and serve with soy sauce. You can also add wasabi and ginger to your liking.
